Treatment of Bleeding Gums:.
1. Bleeding Gums-- Gingivitis Periodontal Disease: Periodontist will start with an initial consultation by having a thorough check-up, monitoring the affected areas, followed by the recommended treatment, procedures and finally with follow-up care provided. 2. Scaling: is done for careful cleaning of the teeth and gums in order to remove plaque and tartar.
3. Root Planning: is required to treat tartar (calculus) which has caused gum degeneration which results in tooth loss if left untreated. Patient will require to take local anesthesia to numb the gums in order to perform the day surgery.
4. Gum Surgery: A periodontal surgery is required by periodontist if there is a significant separation between teeth and gums. In this treatment, gums are carefully handled to clean, remove the tartar in deep pockets because of difficult access and even the bone around the infection is amended to foster the healing process. In a more complicated procedure, periodontal areas are rebuilt through a Guided Tissue Regeneration process.
5. Gum Grafts: is a relatively advanced surgical level treatment in order to restore the periodontal gum tissue to its original form. Gum Grafting is done by collecting tissue from the palate area and securing in the required gum area which is as small as a size of hair. This procedure could take up to an hour depending on the area size and will require the local anesthesia.
6. Dental Implants: is the replacement of the missing tooth root by a man-made titanium surgical screws in the jawbones. It will require a period of 3-6 months in order for it to be fully functional.
